New Report Stresses the Need for Responsibly Designed End-User Subsidies
A new report, Designing Responsible End-User Subsidies for Energy Access: A toolkit featuring case studies for the design of subsidies in off-grid solar and clean cooking, was just released. Produced by Lighting Global / ESMAP, GOGLA, the Clean Cooking Alliance and EnDev, this toolkit stresses the need for responsibly designed end-user subsidies to close the affordability gap and improve access to off-grid solar (OGS) and clean cooking solutions without distorting markets. It is part of the program’s focus on pro-poor end-user subsidies.
