An Open Letter to Stakeholders |Off-Grid Solar: An Essential Service in the Fight against COVID-19

The off-grid solar sector has a vital role to play in the COVID-19 response. Just 41% of low- and middle-income country health care facilities currently have reliable electricity, whilst 789 million people lack access to electricity in their homes.  Off-grid solar products and services can help communities respond to the pandemic.
The note has been developed by Lighting Global, PowerAfrica, ESMAP, GOGLA, Africa Clean Energy, AMDA, and Sustainable Energy for All. These organisations are seeking to partner with governments to electrify health facilities and deliver medical appliances, as well as to provide relief funding to the off-grid solar sector.
